Dena Xia is an artist based in the United States. Born in Shanghai, raised in San Francisco Bay, and currently going to school in New York City, she enjoys learning about different cultures and ways of life around the world. She believes that animation and storytelling are an important way of humanizing different cultures and bringing communities together around the world. She wants to tell stories that inspire hope!

In her free time, she loves traveling, reading comics, playing TTRPG creating immersive worlds with her friends, baking bread, and going to Broadway. She believes that lived experience is the best way to make good stories. She loves talking to people and planning fun parties!

She is a junior BFA Animation major at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. She is the student senator of BFA Animation and the president of the Figure Drawing Club at SVA.
